PORTUGAL, AT THE TABLE
Flavours and food culture in the heart of Porto
A CUISINE WITH MEMORY AND TERROIR
A contemporary way to discover the produce, the flavours and the food culture of Portugal in the heart of Porto.
A cuisine rooted in memory and place
Casa da Alfândega is the culinary heart of Palacio Duarte. Its name recalls Manuel Pacheco, first judge of the Alfândega do Porto and a key figure in the transformation of the Palace during the 18th century.
Its cuisine celebrates Portuguese produce and local culinary tradition through a contemporary lens, placing origin, seasonality and respect for the land at the centre of the experience. Fish from the Atlantic coast, select meats and seasonal produce bring the flavours of Portugal to the table.
A cuisine connected to the place, its history and its landscape.

The name Bar 1888 recalls one of the most singular chapters in Belomonte’s history: the year the Palace became linked to the Companhia de Caminhos de Ferro Através de África (Trans-African Railway Company), a period that left its mark of openness and new connections in a world that was beginning to shrink distances.
Today, that spirit of travel and encounter inspires a bar where cocktails, Port wines and a curated drinks selection accompany the final hours of the day.
From the Douro to Portugal
A land to discover through wine
Wine culture is an inseparable part of Porto’s identity. Palacio Duarte’s culinary offering travels through the Douro and other great Portuguese wine regions via a carefully curated wine list designed to accompany the cuisine and reveal the diversity of the land.
Wines to share, discover and better understand Portugal through its landscapes, varieties and producers.
Gastronomic experiences
PORTO IS ALSO DISCOVERED AROUND A TABLE
The experience continues beyond the menu. Private tastings, meetings with producers, wine experiences and seasonal culinary offerings bring guests and visitors closer to Portuguese food culture from a local perspective. A living programme to discover new flavours, stories and people connected to the land.
