Holy Week is accompanied by outstanding processions and floats that run through different cities and towns of Asturias just like Oviedo and Gijón, for example.

During the Holy Week  celebration in Oviedo, several processions will go through the historic center of the city. In 2023 we will be able to enjoy Holy Week with 9 religious processions and the transportation of  “Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Sentencia” figure. The tradition of the sweet bun “Fiestas de el Bollo” – Easter in Avilés

The Bollo Festival in Aviles is the best way to end the Easter celebrations, it is celebrated on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, which every year marks the arrival of spring in the Asturian city. It was declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in 1972. The Bollo Festival is a tribute to the bollu, a buttered sponge cake, shaped like a four-leaf clover or overlapping stars, forming a castle and dipped in powdered sugar; decorated with paper flowers and other motifs, such as the traditional chicks. Mercaliarte in Colunga from April 6 to 9

For those who are passionate about crafts, you will be able to enjoy a craft market named “Mercaliarte” which is organized by the Association Alcuentros, in the Hernán Pérez-Cuubillas Park. Three days to discover exhibitions and handmade products as well as tasty thing to eat and drink. This market will have between twenty or thirty stalls with Taramundi knives, creative jewelry, macramé, ointments, thermal sacks, leather, wooden toys, bookbinding, textiles, olive wood, beans, sausages, cheese, honey, liqueurs, jams, donuts, caramelized almonds, Asturian bakery, saffron and much more.

XXXII Horse Race Ribadesella 2023

“Las Carreras de Caballos de la Playa de Ribadesella” are organized as a recreational-sporting event of amateur character, to promote  horse riding, a Festival recognized as a Regional Tourist Interest. This year it will take place on April 7 and 8. Thousands of people will gather to admire the charm of the only equestrian event in northern Spain,  at Santa Marida beach.
