One of the nicest rooms we’ve stayed in anywhere We loved our 4-night stay in this unique boutique hotel. Our room was a Premium, and as promised on the website, it was very large. What the photos don’t capture is the impressive scale of the room, with soaring 12-foot (4m) ceilings in both the room and the bath. The bath is also very large with a separate toilet and a two-person shower with double rainfall shower heads and handheld showers. A pro basketball player would fit comfortably under the shower. We also appreciated the water pressure; we haven’t enjoyed such pressure since low-flow fixtures became standard in the USA 20+ years ago. The rooms are beautifully designed with marble, crown moldings, wood floors and wallpapers. The doors are 9 feet high and add to the grandeur of the space. All the necessary amenities are provided, including a curling iron and full-size Molton Brown shampoo, etc. The public areas, by contrast are rather small but never felt overcrowded. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Marta, Abel and Oscar. Tip: if you want a lighter breakfast than the hotel offers, Black Bear Cafe and Brunchit are just a few steps away. The hotel location was convenient to everything, including many restaurants. We loved our stay at CoolRooms and would certainly return!
Great rooms at a perfect location! We stayed at the hotel March 16-21. The hotel is old world, with high ceilings, traditional furnishings, etc, When we walked into the hotel, our initial reaction was “oh no!”. That changed very quickly. The maintenance of the”old world” finishing was nice. The reception at the checkin was great. And then the rooms turned out to be superb. Spacious, with a king bed, room for 2 large open pieces of luggage, two closets for clothes, a separate table for coffee over a wet bar, and ample space to walk around without bumping into the bed or the sofas (!). The room has a large attached bathroom, with a separate, enclosed shower, two separate sinks and amenities, excellent lighting, and really nice shampoo! The location is perfect. Walking distance to the palace, and to the Prado, the Botanical Garden, and the Reina Sofia, and lot of very nice restaurants and bars. The concierge, Chris, was awesome. He helped us plan our evenings, and with bookings for events. His restaurant recommendations were great too. It rained pretty much every day of our stay in Madrid, but the hotel always had enough umbrellas and that helped. A couple of nits: The breakfast was awesome, but service was laid back (it wasn’t a buffet). Maybe right for a holiday, but if you’re in a hurry, there are several bakeries and coffee shops in the vicinity. The rooms were a bit warm for a couple of nights. Apparently they had turned up the heat due to the cold weather (Madrid was unseasonably cold during our visit), and they hadn’t enabled the air conditioning as yet. When we asked, they fixed that. But the rooms were so good that we felt 5 stars fair.
Highly recommend, great location. Central location, but very quiet at night which we liked. Very friendly staff who provided great restaurant recommendations that we booked before arriving (Barmiton and Ferrateria). Great location which meant we could easily walk to everything we wanted to see. Lovely historic building, with lots of luxurious touches which made it a memorable stay. Would definitely recommend and would love to return.
A fantastic stay Staff were excellent. Very welcoming. Great location, walkable to key areas. Large rooms with luxury amenities. Highly recommend. I would definitely come back and stay here. A really lovely experience from start to finish. Overall very happy.
Don’t let the silly name fool you. Don’t let the silly name fool you. This is a very sophisticated hotel. Aesthetics were beautiful. Room was quiet, very spacious and well appointed. Location was convenient to most sights and train station. Service was top notch. Highly recommend.
Well designed hotel Well appointed rooms and spacious. Very attentive service and the location was very central. Thoughtful of the staff to provide complimentary water and nuts to take along with us on our onward journey. Nice bar and restaurant on the premises.
Perfect luxury experience Cool rooms exceeded my expectations, the room was huge, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. The staff was attentive and thoughtful and many little extra details like scented oils included in the turn down service made the whole experience very luxurious. Great location, excellent restaurant, loved everything about my stay.
Spacious and beautiful. Exceptional customer service. Room was so large and comfortable. I knew these rooms had more square footage than most, but this room was surprisingly large. Huge bathroom with shower for two and a separate commode enclosure. Beautiful tile and fixtures. Complimentary treats appeared including chocolates and champagne. All staff members were extraordinary. We extended our trip and came back to this hotel for two more nights before heading home. Convenient location. Noisy street at night, but the room was incredibly well sound proofed with good climate control. Highly recommend.
excellent stay and gorgeous room Really great stay at a beautiful hotel. Our room was huge and comfortable. Beautiful bathroom with a great shower. The staff were very accommodating and helpful throughout the stay. Breakfast was delicious. Perfect location for exploring. I highly recommend and will seek out CoolRooms properties in the future!
A Hidden Gem..one of the best hotels I have stayed in anywhere! It is an absolute pleasure to write a positive review for COOLROOMS, Atocha Palace. My stay there was perfect in every way. The most comfortable bed of my 4 weeks in Spain..the most fantastic shower, a rainshower that was soooo relaxing , along with wonderful bath towels and robes….and even a curling iron for my hair, that I really appreciated The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and even with a lighting system that makes sense..... and the room was soundproofed. Room service was prompt…little extras were anticipated so it was unnecessary to call down because something was needed after food arrived. The staff is the best part of a perfect stay. They are efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. I feel staying at COOLROOMS is one of the highlights of going to Madrid. They make me feel as though I’m the only person that they need to attend to….but I am sure that they make all their guests feel the same. The location is perfect for everything …museums, great restaurants and shopping..in addition Broadway shows are right down the street…Book of Mormons was playing when I was there. I am looking forward to my next trip to Madrid and with no reservations, I will choose to stay at COOLROOMS Atocha Palace.
Great service great food great stay This was a great place for our first night in Madrid. Location is perfect and our stay was lovely. We had dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. We didn’t have room service but that also looked delicious. I will stay here again when I am back in Madrid.
Amazing We had a once day stop in Madrid. This hotel far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in our every need was met. Joe and Paula were so welcoming and so attentive. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful location. Easy to walk to lots of sights all over the city. The room and bathroom were stunning. They provided everything we would need. All of the extra touches were so nice- a hand written letter, chocolate truffles, to go water and snack for the ride to the airport, etc. It was a wonderful stay. We would stay there again and would try their other properties!
Lovely comfortable hotel with exceptional staff This small and friendly hotel is ideally located in the centre of Madrid perfect for sightseeing. It only has about 37 rooms and every guest's need is taken care of by its well trained and exceptional staff. So if you want super luxury and comfort then this is the hotel for you.
Fantastic Boutique Hotel in Madrid! Fantastic Boutique Hotel in Madrid. The Staff was exceptional the entire stay. They all went over and above. Room and hotel are beautiful. I would rank this as one of our favorite hotel experiences of all time. And, we travel a lot! Congratulation to the entire staff!
Fabulous service, great location, big and comfortable junior suite Got the junior suite and boy was it worth it. Faced the inner courtyard, so no street noise and only a bit of breakfast crew noise in the morning, but nothing jarring. Bed was a true king size (I'm guessing 200 X 200 for your metric folks). Very comfortable, a variety of pillows to choose from - hard and soft. Good size bathroom with a sink big enough for 2 (and 2 faucets) and an enclosed shower *with two showers in it!*. Great water pressure, enjoyed the provided shampoo, etc. Two good sized TVs - one in the bedroom, one in the "living room". French doors in bathroom, bedroom and living room, so if you felt the need for fresh air, you could get it instantly. What stood out above all, however, was the friendly and helpful service. VERY customer focused. We got a birthday cake (unasked for) for the birthday boy, got a free map with highlighted recommendations (our first time to Madrid, so this was helpful), a few free snacks at the front desk and big free bottle of filtered water in the room. There is also a minibar if you want to pay minibar prices. Breakfast looked good, but we thought 30 Euros was too pricey so we ate locally. The place is very centrally located - you can get almost anywhere you'd want to visit in a 15 minute walk. English spoken (if you need that) by all but the housekeeper. Given the cost of hotels these days, I'd say we got good value for money, although it was the off season. Would definitely come back and now we're probably going to stay with them when we eventually visit Sevilla.
Comprehensive experience Perhaps my best hotel experience ever! We took the Suite room which was huge and had very luxurious amenities. Hotel staff was the nicest and friendliest and help us with everything we needed. Location is also perfect right in the center. Really can't recommend enough. Was a pleasure and an experience staying at CoolRooms
Top Notch hotel, top notch service Fantastic location, great restaurant, and the staff could not be more helpful. Will make your trip seamless and unforgettable. The concierge in particular was extremely helpful in setting up restaurants, tours, and everything else. Recommend highly to make your trip.
Absolutely Fantastic! Centrally located luxury. Absolutely fantastic. One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. Superb location in the heart of Madrid. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel very welcome. The staff are all incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooms are enormous! Very luxurious with everything you could possibly need for a city break. Dressing gowns, slippers and Molten Brown toiletries, including tooth brushes, shaving kits, combs and sewing kits were all very useful. There is a turn down service, where after a busy day sightseeing you are treated to slippers by the bed and a chocolate on the pillow. The bathroom was both very large and luxurious. 2 wash basins, separate toilet and even 2 showers! The rooms are also very well sound proofed. We enjoyed drinks in the bar areas but didn’t eat in the restaurant, which also looked to be amazing. Chris the concierge we found particularly helpful with his local knowledge and attentive service. Cool Rooms and its team were absolutely faultless. We will definitely return if we come back to Madrid. Thank for an amazing stay.
Ideal place to stay in Madrid Very comfy beds in spacious and stylish rooms. Excellent and friendly service, the staff went above and beyond. The food at breakfast was delicious and presented beautifully evry day. We would also reccomend the restaurant for dinner. An ideal location to explore the city on foot, close to the park, galleries and anywhere else you want to wander.
Birthday break in Madrid Having stayed at the CoolRooms in Seville last year, we were keen to try their hotel in Madrid for a birthday break. The service, room and food was exceptional and the team could not do enough for us, from booking museums to eating out. The location was perfect for all the big attractions and it is a safe, quiet neighbourhood. You can walk to either Palacio Real or Prado in just 15 minutes. The room service was fabulous and we enjoyed the best night sleeping in any hotel, the bed was sooo comfy. I can highly recommend the Premium room which has every amienity you can wish for. We had booked the Menú degustación for my wifes birthday and they surprised us with a lovely bottle of cava and some goodies on the day. The tasting menu and paired wines were superb and very good value compared to London prices! No hesitations with staying at this hotel should we be in Madrid in the future.Booking
