Opposite to the famous clock at Casa de Correos you can find the Kilometer 0 plaque. This plaque indicates the starting point of all the rail roads in Spain.<\/p>\n

Puerta del Sol is also the location of the most famous symbol of Madrid, `El Oso y El Madro\u00f1o\u2019. This is a 4 metres and\u00a020 tonnes of bronze statue of a bear eating fruits from a tree. According to legend, the original name of the city was \u201cUrsaria\u201d (\u201cland of bears\u201d in Latin) due to the high number of these animals that were found in the near forests. The Neptuno fountain represents the god of the sea\u00a0holding a trident\u00a0while riding on a carriage pulled by two creatures with a horse-shaped upper-half and a fish serpentine-tail.<\/p>\n
